About the role:
You will join the purchasing team of a respected automotive and advanced engineering business in Banbury, supplying components for low to medium volume road car programmes. This is a hands-on buyer role in a structured, programme-driven environment. You will take ownership of your own supplier packages, with an experienced procurement team around you to support you as you settle in.
What you'll do:
- Source and procure low to medium complexity technical components for road car programmes.
- Manage suppliers directly on pricing, lead times and delivery commitments.
- Track orders through to receipt and resolve delays or supply risks early.
- Work with engineering to source parts that support programme build dates.
- Maintain accurate purchasing data in the ERP system, including price, lead time and supplier commitments.
- Resolve invoice queries by reconciling purchase orders, delivery notes and supplier invoices.
- Balance speed, cost and risk with sound commercial judgement.
What you'll bring:
- Purchasing or buyer experience within automotive, manufacturing or Tier-1 supply environments.
- Confidence managing suppliers on price, lead time and delivery.
- Comfort working with ERP or purchasing systems, IFS useful but not essential, and managing data in Excel.
- A structured, organised approach, able to work to programme requirements at pace.
- Knowledge of automotive processes such as PPAP and IMDS is an advantage.
- A degree or technical qualification is welcome, though relevant buying experience matters more.
