Role:
We seek to appoint a creative, innovative, and highly motivated individual to coordinate and implement our content and communications activities across our numerous platforms. The candidate will have experience in creativity, communications, social media, and website management. The successful applicant will have a graduate or postgraduate degree and a keen interest in strengthening the national power and profile of the United Kingdom, as well as foreign affairs and international security more generally.
The Content and Communications Coordinator will be an integral part of our organisation’s team. The successful applicant will involve themselves in creating graphic and video products, developing and managing social media campaigns for our organisation and projects, running our social media accounts, and maintaining our website.
This role is an excellent opportunity for the successful applicant to immerse themselves in the world of Westminster and promote the strengthening of Britain domestically and internationally.
Tasks:
- Working with the leadership team to enhance the publicity of the Council on Geostrategy nationally and internationally;
- Developing and managing social media campaigns for programmes, publications, events, and other products;
- Creating and publishing audio-visual content, including graphics, podcasts, videos, and event photography;
- Co-producing the Defence Talks podcast, including guest booking, video editing, and promotion;
- Creating other communications content;
- Managing the social media profiles and the website;
- Other relevant duties related to the role.
Requirements:
- Graduate (Classification of 2:1 or equivalent or above) and/or postgraduate degree;
- A creative and innovative approach;
- Advanced skills in Google Workstation, Canva, audio/video production, and other productivity and desktop publishing applications;
- Excellent social media and website management skills;
- Excellent organisational, time-management, and interpersonal skills;
- Perfect command of English, and attention to detail, particularly in relation to design;
- Team worker with a proactive inclination and positive attitude;
- Ability to be self directed and proactive in working independently;
- An interest in strengthening the national power and profile of the United Kingdom, as well as foreign affairs, defence policy, and international security more generally;
- Desirable: understanding of WordPress and Davinci Resolve or a willingness to learn.
Salary: £28,000 per annum (gross)
