Horizon Teachers is working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Camden to recruit a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support a KS1 pupil on a full-time, long-term basis starting in September.
This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with a child who requires additional support, helping them access the curriculum, build confidence, and develop key social and communication skills. You'll join a supportive team committed to providing every child with the opportunity to succeed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a KS1 pupil with Special Educational Needs.
- Adapt learning activities to meet the pupil's individual needs and encourage engagement.
- Support the child's academic, social, and emotional development throughout the school day.
- Implement strategies outlined in the pupil's EHCP or support plan.
- Work collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals.
- Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
What we're looking for:
- Previous experience supporting children with SEN in a school or similar setting.
- Experience working with pupils with ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs, or SEMH is desirable.
- A patient, caring, and resilient approach.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
