Job Summary
This role will be based in Cornwall but support works elsewhere in the UK working on a variety of construction projects, including housing and commercial works.
Main Duties and Key Responsibilities
- The pre-planned and reactive maintenance to the group estate of commercial and domestic buildings, between building services and construction.
- Working with the engineering team and liaising with other specialisms
- Troubleshooting, evaluating, and recommending equipment/service upgrades when required.
- Ordering parts and supplies as required and maintain stock and inventory control.
- Performing all assigned work to ensure the safety of the building's tenants and the continuous operation of the site.
- To undertake Electrical and other work across the property portfolio including Domestic and Commercial construction and maintenance.
- Carry out any other planned maintenance and fault response work in line with competency; this may be unrelated to Electrical specialism
- Maintaining the BSSL reputation for high standards of work and professionalism at all times.
- Complete maintenance repairs and installation of electrical systems on a full range of commercial and residential properties.
- Complete repairs and maintenance on a full range of electrical systems, including fire alarms, call systems etc. .Training provided where required.
- Complete the installation of new and refurbished electrical systems using a full range of installation materials and techniques.
- Complete routine checking and testing of all types of electrical systems, including the location and repair of faults.
- Adhere to existing working practices, methods, procedures, undertake relevant training and development activities and to respond positively to new and alternative systems.
- Perform other duties within your capabilities as assigned.
- Supporting work across the UK with compensation for working away.
Key Skill/Experience Requirements
- Substantial, relevant experience in commercial environment
- NVQ/ C&G in Electrical Engineering
- 2391 Test and Inspect
- 18th Edition
- Valid UK Driving License
- CSCS Skill Card
- Experience with alarms would be desirable.
- Well versed in completing paperwork including PPM paperwork, inspection sheets, RAMS etc.
- The ability to work in accordance with health and safety requirements as a matter of routine
- Good working knowledge of the building services environment and other disciplines would be a n advantage
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to demonstrate journey and workload planning.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Your work will take you into buildings with children and vulnerable adults, therefore you will be asked to complete an enhanced DBS check.
