The successful candidate will support and oversee Yard operations across the business unit and be the go-to person for Yard environmental and health and safety compliance. You will be addressing any issues with compliance and operations.
Key responsibilities:
- Taking care of the day to day running of the weighbridge and associated documentation.
- Responsible for Stock Management including stock taking and environmental compliance
- Management of Weighbridge operations.
- Ensuring correct quality/quantity of inbound & outbound materials are loaded and unloaded as stipulated by commercial department.
- To make sure all relevant reports are completed daily including all necessary photographs and paperwork to comply with legislation inc PRN requirements
- Compliance of all yard area’s providing practical solutions to storage and environmental aspects.
- Set work schedules for Yard housekeeping team to ensure standards met expectations.
- Work in collaboration with Health and Safety Manager to ensure company caretaking duties are completed to expectation.
- Ensure the Company’s Quality Control Procedures are adhered to in Yard, managing any non-conformances.
- Manage adequate cover for annual leave or absence of direct reports.
- Ensuring you and your team are working in compliance with the company’s Health & Safety policies.
- Ensuring that high standards of quality are kept and comply with the Company’s quality of loading procedures
- Maintaining a clean and tidy workspace.
- Leading by example, in terms of timekeeping, attendance and legal compliance.
- Data collection from inbound/outbound deliveries.
- Collating relevant evidence for cross boarder stock movement.
- Policing of safe traffic management disciplines and systems.
- Management of Pre-Use Mobile Plant Checks
- Training for succession of employees with progression potential.
- Any other duties commensurate with the nature and responsibilities of the role
Essential requirements
- Previous experience in a yard, depot, warehouse, logistics, construction, or transport environment.
- Experience managing stock, deliveries, and dispatch operations.
- Proven experience in a supervisory or team-leading role.
- Strong understanding of health and safety procedures.
- Ability to plan, organise, and prioritise workloads.
- Good communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Basic IT skills for recording stock, deliveries, and yard activities.
Desirable requirements
- Forklift Truck (FLT) licence.
- Knowledge of vehicle loading and unloading procedures.
- First Aid or relevant safety qualifications.
- Experience using warehouse or logistics management systems.
Working hours:
- Monday to Friday 8am - 5pm (1 Saturday working per month)
