The Fountain isn’t just a pub – it’s where our village comes together. From cosy Sunday roasts to bustling quiz nights, from lazy lunches to live music evenings, we’re proud to be a true community hub. With a brand-new Head Chef on board, we’re raising the bar with a modern gastro pub offering big flavours, fresh seasonal ingredients, and dishes worth shouting about (and Instagramming!).
Now, we’re looking for a General Manager to bring it all together – someone who can run a slick operation while also being the heart and soul of the pub.
What You’ll Get
· OTE of £42,000 (base salary £35k–£37k + bonus + gratuities).
· Support from an experienced central team in finance, marketing & operations.
· The chance to collaborate with a talented new Head Chef on menus and events.
· A loyal customer base and the opportunity to grow it even further.
· A fun, supportive team environment where no two days are the same.

What You’ll Be Doing
· Day-to-day leadership: Running the pub floor with confidence, charm, and a hands-on approach.
· Being the face of The Fountain: Building brilliant relationships with locals, welcoming new faces, and making sure every guest leaves happier than when they arrived.
· Food-led focus: Working closely with our Head Chef to shape menus, celebrate seasonal produce, and deliver food events (think steak nights, Sunday feasts, gala menus).
· Community & events: Creating and promoting a buzzing calendar of activities – live music, pub quizzes, themed nights, charity fundraisers, beer festivals, and more.
· Team leadership: Inspiring, training, and supporting a passionate front-of-house and bar team who care about what they do.
· Smooth operations: Managing stock, rotas, and compliance while keeping standards sky-high.
· Marketing & socials: Showcasing what we do best through creative local marketing and a lively online presence.
What We’re Looking For
· Experience running or supervising a busy pub, bar, or restaurant.
· A natural host with a people-first approach and a real love of hospitality.
· Confidence in both sides of the job: from managing profit & loss to pulling a perfect pint.
· Passion for quality food and drink, with ideas to elevate our gastro pub offering.
· Someone who thrives on building community, hosting events, and creating a place where everyone feels welcome.
· Organised, commercially savvy, and happy rolling up their sleeves to get stuck in.
