Overview of the Role
We are looking for a skilled, passionate, and experienced Bench Joiner / Cabinet Maker to join our production team on a full-time, permanent basis.
As a progressive employer, we proudly operate a four-day working week (Monday to Thursday, 7:00am–5:30pm), giving our team a three-day weekend as standard, alongside occasional Friday overtime during busy periods.
In this role, you will bring complex, bespoke luxury designs to life, ensuring every joint, detail, and finish meets the exacting standards our clients expect. The position involves a balance of high-precision bench joinery within our modern Leeds workshop, alongside occasional travel across the UK to carry out professional on-site installations.
Duties & Responsibilities
Bench Joinery & Workshop Production:
● Interpreting complex technical drawings and CAD details to construct high-end bespoke furniture and specialist joinery.
● Working with a diverse range of materials, including high-grade MDF (painted, veneered, and laminated), hardwoods, natural timber veneers, and integrated metalwork or glass components.
● Carrying out precise cutting, machining, assembly, and fine hand-finishing of custom joinery pieces.
● Operating workshop machinery safely and accurately in accordance with company safety standards.
● Conducting quality control checks on all work before handing pieces over to our in-house finishing and spraying team.
On-Site Installation & Site Support:
● Travelling to project sites across the UK to carry out high-quality installations of bespoke joinery and furniture.
● Overcoming site challenges pragmatically, ensuring seamlessly fitted results in bespoke environments.
● Communicating professionally and courteously with clients, site managers, and other tradespeople while on-site.
Operations & Team Support:
● Mentoring and sharing trade knowledge with apprentices and junior factory team members.
● Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised workspace within the workshop.
Experience & Skills Required
● Experience: Minimum 3 to 5 years of professional bench joinery or cabinet making experience in a high-end or bespoke manufacturing environment.
● Technical Skills: Proven ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings and produce precise, high-grade joinery.
● Material Knowledge: Solid understanding of timber species, veneers, engineered boards (MDF), hardware, and modern joinery techniques.
● Eye for Detail: Meticulous standards with a passion for precision, durability, and flawless finishes.
● Problem-Solving: A practical mind able to overcome site and workshop challenges effectively.
● Communication & Professionalism: Clear communication skills and a courteous manner when representing the business on-site.
● (Desirable) A valid UK driving licence is preferred but not essential.
