Facilitators (Support Workers) at The Mount Camphill Community empower individuals to live independently and fulfillingly by assisting with daily tasks; cooking, cleaning, personal care, facilitating community engagement (social activities and work). Promoting health and wellbeing, supporting finances, offering emotional support, focusing on the person's goals and choices through a holistic, person-centered approach. The role is to work together, building trust and helping develop life skills.
We currently need a Support Worker to join our team as soon as possible. We have 16 supported adults living across 3 houses that require daily support. All supported cohousers participate in a dynamic weekly workshop schedule involving caring for the land, craft and performing arts.
In return for your commitment, we offer a flexible timetable with morning (8-6) and evening (12-9.30) shifts, (weekend availability is essential). 5.6 weeks (28 days) annual leave, meals whilst on shift, annual pay review, ongoing training and a chance to be a part of a vibrant community that offers a rich cultural timetable throughout the year.
The Mount Camphill Community is a charity and life sharing community that offers education and an adult supported living programme for people with a learning disability. We are a community inspired by anthroposophy, a spiritual philosophy founded by Rudolf Steiner, emphasising the development of the human being and consciousness.
An interest in anthroposophy or experience working in an anthroposophical inspired community would be an advantage but not essential, a community induction is offered.
