About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and reliable Friction Welding Operative to join our production team. The successful candidate will operate friction‑welding machinery to produce high‑quality welded components, ensuring all work meets safety, quality, and production
standards.
Key Responsibilities

Machine Operation — Set up, operate, and monitor friction‑welding equipment.
·
Quality Control — Inspect welded components, check measurements, and ensure weld integrity.
·
Safety Compliance — Follow all safety procedures, including guarding, sensors, PPE, and safe systems of work.
·
Process Monitoring — Adjust machine parameters as required to maintain consistent output.
·
Record Keeping — Complete production logs and report any defects or machine issues.
·
General Workshop Duties — Support the wider team with housekeeping, material handling, and basic maintenance.
Skills & Experience
·
Experience in friction welding, metal fabrication, or industrial machine operation.
·
Ability to read and follow technical instructions and measurements.
·
Strong awareness of health and safety requirements.
·
Good problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
·
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable
·
Experience with automated welding machinery.
·
Knowledge of steel grades and welding processes.
·
Overhead crane or forklift licence.
·
Previous experience in a high‑precision manufacturing environment.
