Job Title: Claims Handler
Contract: Permanent, subject to successful completion of probation.
Hours of work: Full Time (35hrs per week) Mon-Fri 9am - 5pm.
We're MIS Group. For over 30 years we've been the people drivers call when something goes wrong, an accident, a breakdown, a claim that needs sorting. We're hiring Claims Handlers for our Dundonald office, and you don't need insurance experience to apply. If you're good with people on the phone, calm under pressure and organised, we'll teach you the claims part. We'll back the right person.
No sales targets. No cold calling. No evening shifts. Our monthly bonuses aren't tied to selling anyone anything. We reward good work and offer a great working environment.
What You'll Do:
You'll be the first person a customer speaks to after an accident or breakdown, Your job is to take control of the situation and get things moving:
- Take the details of new claims and breakdowns over the phone, getting the facts right first time
- Check the customer's cover and explain clearly what happens next
- Arrange repairers, recovery and legal support, and keep everything progressing
- Keep customers, brokers and insurers updated so nobody is left wondering
- Keep clean, accurate records, the admin side that makes everything else work
You'll own your claims from first call through the early stages, with proper training and support around you while you learn.
Essential Criteria
- At least a year in a customer-facing role, that could be claims or insurance, but retail, hospitality, contact centre or similar all count
- A good phone manner: clear, calm and reassuring, including when the caller is stressed
- Organised, comfortable juggling priorities, and confident using computer systems
Desirable Criteria
- A Full, clean UK driving license
- A minimum of 1 years' in insurance or claims role is a bonus, not a requirement
