Overview
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Bar Staff member to join our vibrant team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in hospitality and restaurant service, with a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead by example, ensuring the bar operates smoothly while maintaining high standards of service, safety, and efficiency.
Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of beverages in accordance with company standards and customer preferences
- Provide excellent guest service, ensuring all patrons feel welcomed and valued
- Assist in training and mentoring junior bar staff to uphold service quality and professionalism
- Manage stock levels, including ordering supplies and rotating stock to minimise waste
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the bar area, including cleaning equipment and utensils
- Upsell menu items to maximise sales opportunities while respecting guest preferences
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and responsible alcohol service policies
- Handle cash transactions accurately using point-of-sale systems
- Support food preparation tasks when necessary, including garnishing drinks or preparing light snacks
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure prompt service delivery
Requirements
- Proven experience in hospitality or restaurant environments, particularly within bar service
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and responsible alcohol serving practices
- Experience with food preparation and basic culinary skills is desirable
- Excellent guest service skills with a friendly, professional demeanour
- Ability to perform basic maths accurately for cash handling and inventory management
- Good organisational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently under pressure
- Kitchen or culinary experience is a plus but not essential
- Strong time management skills to handle busy service periods effectively
- Previous experience in upselling menu items to enhance sales performance is advantageous
