Responsibilities
- Assist the Practice Manager in overseeing the day-to-day running of the GP practice, ensuring efficient appointment scheduling, patient flow, and administrative processes
- Supervise clinical and non-clinical staff, providing leadership, support, and guidance to foster a motivated team environment
- Manage financial operations including budgeting, invoicing, and resource allocation to ensure financial sustainability of the practice
- Support human resources functions such as recruitment, staff development, performance reviews, and addressing employee concerns
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, data protection laws, and practice policies to maintain high standards of safety and quality
- Coordinate with external partners such as pharmacies, specialists, and community services to facilitate integrated patient care
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing practice workflows and implementing effective solutions
Experience
- Proven supervising or management experience within a healthcare setting or similar environment
- Strong background in financial management with the ability to oversee budgets and resource planning
- Experience in human resources functions including recruitment, staff development, and performance management
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations, data protection policies, and compliance standards relevant to general practice or veterinary settings
- Familiarity with veterinary or healthcare operations is advantageous but not essential; a keen interest in healthcare management is required
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate teams and build positive relationships with patients and staff
