Overview
As a Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals in care homes services. Your primary responsibility will be to provide compassionate and personalised care to enhance the quality of life for those you support. This position requires effective communication skills, a commitment to delivering high standards of care, and the ability to follow care plans meticulously.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents or clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and meal preparation.
- Support individuals in maintaining their independence and dignity while providing emotional support and companionship.
- Communicate effectively with clients, their families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
- Follow care plans accurately to meet individual needs and preferences, documenting any changes in condition or behaviour.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by adhering to health and safety guidelines.
- Participate in training sessions and team meetings to continuously improve your skills and knowledge in care practices.
Experience
- Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is desirable but not essential; a willingness to learn is key.
- Strong communication skills in English are required for effective interaction with clients and team members.
- Basic IT skills are advantageous for maintaining records and communicating via electronic systems.
