MecWash was established in 1993 and is a profitable capital equipment manufacturer, making specialist washing machines for the engineering industry. Our equipment is used to clean precision components from hydraulics and engine blocks to turbine blades and sensors. Our customers include Rolls Royce, UTC Aerospace, JCB, Perkins, Triumph, Renishaw, SKF, BAE and JLR. A substantial proportion of our machines are exported.
Reporting to: Service Manager
Overview
The successful applicant will be a key member of our Customer Service team. The role encompasses all aspects of aftersales support for customers, such as sales of spares and consumables, service engineer co-ordination and remote assistance delegation. It will include liaising with both internal and external personnel (colleagues/ suppliers/ customers) in a way that best improves the departments’ productivity and profit, while ensuring a “customer first” focus is maintained.
Responsibilities
- Spares and consumables (filters & chemicals) orders – Prepare quotes, process sales orders, raise despatch notes, invoices & credit notes, organise transport, chase suppliers
- Develop service customer list - Contacts, details etc. for current and potential service customers
- Service invoice preparation – Obtain service reports and prepare information for invoicing
- Processing commercial invoices for overseas orders and book collection of goods on courier website
- Responding & dealing with emailed enquiries in a timely manner
- Statistics preparation - Warranty, commissioning, service timesheets etc. to be kept up to date along with other service “ad hoc” data
- Chasing service required parts suppliers - Getting parts in on time
- Service filing – Accurately file service reports and service paperwork
- Incoming telephone calls - Assist with answering and taking messages
- Office duties - General input as and when required.
Required competences/Experience
- Service administration experience within a similar small / medium sized business environment
- Excellent literacy and numeracy skills
- Competence with MS Office will be essential (Outlook, Word & Excel)
- Knowledge of Sage 200 preferred but not essential
- Engineering environment knowledge preferred but not essential
- Professional and confident manner
- Highly organised and self-motivated
- Flexible and positive attitude to the position, colleagues and customers.

Pay: £26,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
