Brent Cross Shopping Centre | Thursday–Sunday
Heaven is a Cupcake is bringing our little bites of heaven to Brent Cross Shopping Centre for a seasonal pop-up, and we’re looking for a friendly, enthusiastic Retail Assistant to join our team.
This is a customer-facing role where you’ll be representing our brand, selling our delicious cakes, cupcakes and brownies, and helping create a fantastic experience for our customers.
The Role
You’ll be working in our pop-up shop from Thursday to Sunday, with opening times varying depending on the season, shopping centre hours and expected customer demand.
This is a seasonal role, so we’re looking for someone with excellent availability and flexibility who is happy to work different days and hours when required. Hours may increase during busy periods such as school holidays and Christmas.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Welcoming customers and providing friendly, enthusiastic service
- Selling cupcakes, brownies, cakes and other products
- Serving and packaging customer orders
- Operating the till and taking payments
- Keeping the stall clean, tidy and beautifully presented
- Restocking products and displays throughout the day
- Ensuring products are presented to our high standards
- Answering customer questions about our products and allergens
- Helping with setting up and closing the pop-up
- Creating a warm, welcoming and memorable customer experience
We're Looking For Someone Who Is:
- Friendly, approachable and confident with customers
- Reliable, punctual and well organised
- Comfortable working independently
- Happy working in a busy retail environment
- Flexible with working days and hours
- Available Thursday–Sunday with good availability during seasonal busy periods
- Confident handling money and using a till
- Presentable and professional
- Passionate about great customer service
- A genuine lover of cake is definitely a bonus!
- Someone with experience in hospitality & the food industry with an awareness of allergens is beneficial but not essential
Retail or hospitality experience is preferred but not essential — personality, reliability and a great attitude are just as important.
The Important Bit – Flexibility
Because this is a seasonal pop-up, working hours will vary throughout the period. We may need additional cover during school holidays, weekends and the Christmas period, so flexibility is essential.
Opening times and shifts may vary, and we’re looking for someone who can work with us as our busiest periods change. We may also need you to help out at the bakery in St Albans or with delivering stock so a full, clean drivers licence is beneficial but not essential.
