Overview
We are seeking a skilled Data Cabling Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of data cabling systems across various commercial and industrial sites. Duties
- Install, test, and maintain structured cabling systems for data, voice, CCTV, and VoIP networks.
- Read and interpret technical schematics, wiring diagrams, and network layouts to ensure accurate installation.
- Use hand tools and specialised equipment to run cables through ceilings, walls, and conduits efficiently and safely.
- Configure and troubleshoot network devices such as Cisco routers, Juniper equipment, and Avaya systems.
- Perform equipment repairs or replacements as needed to ensure optimal network performance.
- Assist with the installation of electrical components related to telecommunication infrastructure.
- Conduct testing of Ethernet connections and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Document all work performed accurately in reports or schematics for future reference.
- Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in network installation or telecommunications engineering.
- Strong knowledge of computer networking concepts including Ethernet, VoIP, and TCP/IP protocols.
- Familiarity with CCTV systems, Avaya communication platforms, Juniper devices, and Cisco routers is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in using hand tools for cabling and equipment installation.
- Ability to read technical schematics and wiring diagrams accurately.
- Electrical experience or background in electrical systems is advantageous.
- Experience with telecommunication infrastructure projects from planning through execution.
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail in documentation and compliance standards.

Pay: £18.00-£22.00 per hour
