Primary SEN Teaching Assistant - Stockport

Prospero Teaching are currently recruiting SEND Teaching Assistants to work across primary schools in Stockport from September 2026.
Working as a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant in a Stockport school is a rewarding and varied role where you play an important part in helping children and young people overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential.
About the Role:

Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with Special Educational Needs.

Assist pupils in accessing the curriculum and achieving their individual learning targets.

Support the social, emotional, and behavioural development of children, promoting confidence and independence.

Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement personalised learning and support plans.
Experience/Qualifications and Requirements:
-
Experience working in primary school
-
Team Teach training (desired not essential)
-
Previous experience supporting children with SEND

Experience supporting children with SEMH
-
An enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one

References covering the last 24 months
