Overview
We are seeking a skilled Level 3 Motor Mechanic/MOT Tester to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicle types, ensuring optimal performance and safety. Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive diagnostics on vehicles to identify faults and issues
- Perform repairs and maintenance on engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, and electrical components
- Use hand tools and power tools effectively to disassemble, repair, and reassemble vehicle parts
- Maintain detailed records of work performed and parts used
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and manufacturer specifications
- Assist in the inspection of vehicles to determine necessary repairs or replacements
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of service tasks
- Keep the workshop clean, organised, and safe at all times
- MOT Testing
Experience
- Proven experience as a Motor Mechanic/MOT Tester with a recognised qualification at Level 3 or equivalent
- Strong mechanical knowledge across various vehicle systems
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, and pliers
- Experience working with power tools including drills, grinders, and impact wrenches
- Ability to diagnose complex mechanical issues efficiently
- Familiarity with diagnostic equipment and software is desirable
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and work quality
