We're looking for the person who walks onto a salon floor and the whole room settles. The one who remembers every regular's name, spots a booking gap before it becomes a problem, and has the team's back without ever letting standards slip.
If that's you, keep reading.
Who we are
We're SCL, and we. love. your. hair. We love making it glossy, fresh, dimensional, every shade from inky dark to sun-struck blonde. We do it across three London salons, a stylist co-working space, and a pro-level haircare range. All independent. All women-owned. All built on the belief that hair should feel great: fun, indulgent, never intimidating.
We're looking for a Salon Manager to lead the floor across all three sites and make sure every guest leaves feeling like the best version of themselves.
The role
This isn't a desk job. You'll be on the floor, in the thick of it, the tone-setter, the fixer, the person the team looks to when something needs sorting. You'll keep the Creative and Front-of-House teams running like clockwork, turn first-time guests into regulars, and make sure every appointment feels effortless from the second someone walks through the door.
What you'll actually be doing
Running the floor
- Keep things calm, clean and moving, you're catching issues before they land on anyone's desk.
Leading the team
- Mentor and inspire your Front-of-House team and Assistants.
- Onboard new starters and apprentices properly, not just on paper.
- Build a culture people actually want to come to work in.
Looking after guests
- Build real relationships with regulars.
- When something goes wrong (it happens), own it, fix it, and send them home happier than when they arrived.
Keeping stock in check
- Work with the Operations Manager to keep every salon fully stocked, organised and ready to go, no last-minute scrambles.
Owning the booking diary
- Scan daily for gaps, clashes and opportunities.
- Keep the diary working as hard as you do.
Driving retail & rebooking
- Coach the team on retail and rebooking, and keep everyone aligned on what good looks like.
Supporting content & marketing
- Help the team capture great content and hit social targets.
- Work with our marketing team on promotions, events and campaigns.
Running events
- Plan and lead in-salon events, training sessions, workshops and activations.
Tracking the numbers
- Keep an eye on weekly and monthly KPIs, and use them to spot where the team needs support.
Keeping us safe & compliant
- Make sure every space and piece of kit meets brand standard.
- Run regular health and safety checks.
- Take on the role of Fire Marshal and first aid logkeeper.
Being the culture carrier
- Lead by example on what SCL stands for: Vitality, Integrity, Be You, Empowerment, and Solidarity.
- Bring energy, kindness and accountability, every single day.
What you bring
- You're a natural people person, confident, kind, and completely unflappable under pressure.
- You've managed a salon or led a senior front-of-house team in beauty, wellness or retail before.
- You communicate clearly and collaborate easily.
- You're proactive, organised, and good at solving problems before they become problems.
- You're comfortable with booking systems and tech generally, nothing fazes you.
- You genuinely love service, people, and building a brilliant client journey.
- You can juggle ten things at once without losing your calm or your standards.
As one of London's few major women-owned salon groups, we take real pride in building a team culture rooted in empowerment, inclusivity and genuine career progression, not just for our guests, but for everyone on our team too.
Ready?
We don't just do hair, we create joy, confidence and community. As Salon Manager, you'll be right at the centre of that. Apply now and let's build something brilliant together.
