TDK Mechanical Services is a well-established Mechanical & Electrical contractor delivering commercial building services and maintenance projects across London and the South East.
As our business continues to grow, we're looking for an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to help drive our health and safety culture, ensure compliance across multiple sites, and support our operational teams in delivering projects safely.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong construction and M&E background who enjoys being out on site, influencing positive behaviours and making a real impact.
The Role
Reporting to the Head of Operations, you'll work closely with Project Managers, Contract Managers, Supervisors and Engineers, providing practical health and safety support across the business.
You'll split your time between our Epping office and operational sites, ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation, company procedures and industry best practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out regular site inspections and health & safety audits.
- Provide practical health & safety advice and support to operational teams.
- Review and assist in the preparation of Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
- Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Deliver toolbox talks and safety briefings.
- Monitor compliance with company procedures, CDM Regulations and current health & safety legislation.
- Support the management and maintenance of company accreditations including ISO management systems.
- Assist with external audits, client inspections and compliance assessments.
- Monitor and close corrective actions from inspections and audits.
- Maintain accurate health & safety records, training records and compliance documentation.
- Promote a proactive safety culture throughout the business.
- Keep up to date with changes in legislation and implement improvements where required.
About You
We're looking for someone who is passionate about health and safety and has experience within the construction industry, ideally Mechanical & Electrical (M&E).
Essential
- Minimum 5 years' Health & Safety experience within the construction industry.
- Previous experience working within Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) or Building Services.
- NEBOSH General Certificate.
- IOSH Managing Safely (or equivalent).
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Experience carrying out site inspections and audits.
- Experience preparing and reviewing RAMS.
- Excellent knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and CDM Regulations.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Confident using Microsoft Office.
Desirable
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate.
- Tech IOSH or Grad IOSH membership.
- Internal Auditor qualification.
- ISO 45001 experience.
- Experience managing CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor or similar accreditations.
- Experience using H&S HQ and SimPro.
