Role: Service & Safety Assistant
Company: Capitol Students, Clifton & Stewart House
Hours: 16 hrs per week (64 hrs per month)
Shifts:
Week 1: 16 hours, Saturday 8am till 4pm , Sunday 8am till 4pm
Week 2: 16 hours, Saturday 12pm till 8pm , Sunday 12am till 8pm
Location: Clifton & Stewart House Glasgow
Key Purpose of the role
Assist in the provision of service to occupants in accordance with Capitol Students requirements.
We are currently recruiting for 2 staff for this role on the alternative shift pattern listed.
Reporting to the Scheme Manager & Assistant Scheme Manager.
Note for periods between shifts this is a lone worker role
Key Tasks:
Communal Area Checks
The checking on a regular basis of:
- Corridors and Fire Safety checks
- Stairwells and Fire Exits
- Gym and Laundry
- Reception area appropriately illuminated and clean
- Record all checks for the company Health and Safety guidelines
- Rotation of bins for collection in bin store
Monitor CCTV
- Maintain a security presence in the building during contracted hours
- Ensure that ALL guests and visitors sign in the register
- Reporting of noise and other complaints
- Reporting of any other unusual activity
- Reporting of lock out issue
- Record and checks for the company Health and Safety guidelines
Administration & Any other Business
- Completion of all logs at the end of the shift
- Check handover book and log any additional information
- Log parcels and send residents email communication
- Respond to requests for support and services as directed by accommodation manager or assistant manager as defined by service level agreements and Capitol Students requirements
- Assist students with any out of hours enquires
- Ensure that safety needs and welfare needs of the student are being met
- Deal with lock outs or other minor emergencies promptly
- Monitor shared inbox for any resident enquires
- Be aware of company policies regarding major incidents
Requirements
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role preferably with experience of working in the accommodation, hospitality or retail sectors.
- A previous security-based role with administration skills would be preferable
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Able to demonstrate an objective, professional and calm approach when handling difficult situations, experience in complaint handling would be beneficial
- Ability to build relationships internally and with third-party suppliers
- Computer literate with the ability to use Microsoft Office
- Ability to work at pace whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to manage own time effectively, prioritising tasks when required, multitasking and meeting deadlines
- Highly skilled in understanding, empathising and delivering against customer needs
- Demonstrates a positive and collaborative attitude, with the ability to adapt swiftly
- Willingness to undertake challenging tasks to ensure customer satisfaction
- Self-motivated and possessing the ability to work on own initiative
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £13.12 per hour
