Field Care Supervisor – Supported Living
Location: Walsall, with travel across Walsall, Cannock, Stoke-on-Trent and Warwickshire
Hours: 37.5 – approximately 50% office-based / 50% field-based
Contract: Full Time - Permanent

To be considered for this role, you will need:
- A Level 3 or higher qualification in Health and Social Care, or another relevant care-related qualification.
- Previous experience providing care and support to adults with learning disabilities, ideally within supported living or a similar care environment.
- Previous experience in a supervisory, senior care or team leadership role, with the ability to lead and support care teams effectively.
- A strong understanding of person-centred care, safeguarding, health and safety, risk assessment and care planning.
- Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to work with service users, families, staff, managers and external professionals.
- The ability to work across multiple supported living homes and effectively monitor and maintain standards across different services.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, including at least one weekend day per month and two late shifts per week.
- A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle, as regular travel between services is required.
- A genuine commitment to promoting independence, dignity, choice and quality of life for adults with learning disabilities and mental health needs.
About the role
We are a well-established care agency operating across Walsall and are looking for a motivated, compassionate and experienced Field Care Supervisor to oversee our Supported Living services across Walsall, Cannock, Stoke-on-Trent and Warwickshire.
This is a varied and rewarding role combining office-based management and hands-on field supervision, with your time split approximately 50% office-based and 50% field-based.
You will play a key role in ensuring our supported living services provide safe, high-quality and person-centred care. Working across multiple homes, you will support and lead teams, monitor service quality, oversee care planning and assessments, and ensure our services consistently meet the needs of the people we support.

Key responsibilities: Care and support
- Ensure adults with learning disabilities and mental health needs receive high-quality, person-centred care and support in line with our Mission Statement, Core Values and policies.
- Promote a holistic approach to care, considering the social, physical, cultural, emotional and spiritual needs of each individual.
- Promote independence, choice, dignity and quality of life throughout all aspects of service delivery.
- Carry out initial care needs assessments in a person-centred way, ensuring the individual is fully involved in the process.
- Oversee the development, implementation and review of personalised care plans, ensuring they reflect individual needs, preferences and goals.
- Complete regular care needs reassessments, as required by policy or when an individual's needs change.
Leadership and supervision
- Work across multiple supported living homes and provide effective leadership to care teams.
- Support, supervise and develop staff to ensure consistently high standards of care.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback and identify training and development needs.
- Work closely with Managers and colleagues to ensure effective communication, coordination and continuity of care.
- Promote a positive team culture focused on excellent care, professional standards and continuous improvement.
Quality, compliance and safeguarding
- Monitor service quality and ensure services operate in accordance with relevant policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure effective safeguarding, health and safety and risk management practices are maintained.
- Complete regular audits in accordance with organisational policies and identify areas requiring improvement.
- Develop, implement and monitor action plans arising from audits, incidents, reviews or identified areas of concern.
- Maintain accurate, confidential and up-to-date records, documentation and reports relating to service users and staff.
- Ensure any concerns relating to safeguarding, care quality or health and safety are identified, escalated and addressed appropriately.
Partnership working
- Build effective working relationships with service users, families and their representatives.
- Liaise with healthcare professionals, social care teams, external agencies and other stakeholders to ensure individuals receive coordinated and comprehensive support.
- Communicate effectively with Managers and staff to ensure any changes in needs, risks or circumstances are responded to promptly.
Person specificationEssential
- Level 3 or higher qualification in Health and Social Care or a relevant equivalent.
- Experience supporting adults with learning disabilities.
- Experience leading, supervising or coordinating care staff.
- Strong knowledge of person-centred care and support planning.
- Understanding of safeguarding, health and safety, risk assessments and quality assurance.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- A confident and supportive leadership style.
- Ability to work collaboratively with service users, colleagues, families and external professionals.
- Willingness to work across multiple locations and undertake evening and weekend monitoring duties.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
Desirable
- Additional qualifications in Health and Social Care, Leadership or Management.
- Previous experience in a Field Care Supervisor, Senior Carer, Team Leader, Care Coordinator or similar supervisory role.
- Experience working within supported living services.
- Experience with audits, quality monitoring, care assessments and action planning.
- Knowledge of supporting individuals with mental health needs.
