We are seeking a kind, reliable, and compassionate individual to support a bright, cheerful, and engaging gentleman in his late 30s, who has a positive, young-at-heart outlook.
He has a physical disability that affects bone strength and uses a specialist wheelchair and adapted vehicle to maintain his independence and mobility.
It‘s a unique opportunity within a calm, supportive home environment. You will support the service user with daily routines, activities, enjoyable outings, and some medical appointments, promoting wellbeing, and quality of life.
About the role / Working Environment
This is an ideal role for parents seeking a structured part-time position with consistent hours that fit seamlessly around school runs, childcare, and other family commitments.
The service user lives with his mother and takes pride in maintaining a clean and organised setting, keeping his vehicle clean, and taking care with his personal presentation.
We are looking for someone who is:
- Calm, patient, and understanding
- Reliable and consistent, with a strong attendance record.
- Organised and proactive
- Comfortable supporting with personal care
- Looking for stable, long-term part-time work
Care experience is welcome but not essential, as full training is provided. Reliability, common sense, and initiative are vital.
Driving Requirements
A full UK driving licence is essential
You must be confident driving an automatic adapted vehicle, including motorway travel.
You will be fully insured to drive the adapted vehicle.
Role Responsibilities
- Providing personal care, including toileting, bathing, and dressing
- Supporting daily routines and overall wellbeing
- Assisting with light household tasks and errands
- Driving and accompanying to appointments, and trips out.
Activities will include:
- Countryside, coastal visits and park walks
- Cafes, garden centres and local attractions
- Seasonal events and entertainment shows
- Recreational trips and places of interest
Choose a Schedule That Suits You
Schedule 1 - 15 hours per week
Wednesdays: 09:00 - 15:00 (every week, 6 hours)
Fridays: 09:00 - 15:00 (every week, 6 hours)
Sundays: 14:00 - 20:00 (alternate weeks, 6 hours)
Schedule 2 - 18 hours per week
Wednesdays: 09:00 - 15:00 (every week, 6 hours)
Fridays: 09:00 - 15:00 (every week, 6 hours)
Sundays: 14:00 - 20:00 (every week, 6 hours)
We’re happy to discuss scheduling options and, where possible, adjust shift times to support the successful candidate, provided the service user’s needs are met. Sunday hours may also be adjusted upon request.
Introductory sessions will be provided for the successful candidate.

Location Requirement
Applicants should live within 12 miles of Accrington, including areas such as Blackburn, Rossendale, and Ramsbottom.
Employment is subject to satisfactory references and a enhanced DBS check.
