Garth Park Kitchen is a vibrant cafe located in the heart of beautiful Garth Park, Bicester. We offer an informal quality dining experience, focusing on seasonal, creative cooking using produce sourced directly from local farmers wherever possible. Our cafe has a welcoming, community focused atmosphere and serves delicious, approachable dishes alongside our homemade bakes.
The Role
We are looking for a motivated and skilled Senior Chef de Partie / Junior Sous Chef to join our small, ambitious kitchen team. This role is ideal for a chef with strong foundations and good experience who is ready to take on more responsibility and develop into a leadership position.
You will work closely with the Head Chef, helping to deliver high standards across service, prep and menu execution. You will be involved in seasonal menu development, support the running of the kitchen day to day, and play a key role in maintaining the quality and consistency our customers expect.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Head Chef in the smooth day to day running of the kitchen
- Take ownership of sections, ensuring consistently high standards of food and presentation
- Assist with the development and execution of seasonal menus using fresh, local ingredients
- Lead by example during service, maintaining calm, focus and quality under pressure
- Help manage stock control, ordering and food cost awareness
- Ensure all food safety, hygiene and health and safety standards are met at all times
- Support, train and mentor junior members of the kitchen team
- Contribute ideas and creativity while respecting the cafes approachable, informal style
About You
- A confident and capable chef with experience as a Senior CDP or similar, ready to step up
- Passionate about seasonal, ingredient led cooking and thoughtful flavour combinations
- Organised, reliable and able to work efficiently in a small team
- Positive, solutions focused attitude with good communication skills
- Comfortable working in a busy service environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong understanding of kitchen hygiene, food safety and best practice
