Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional care to residents in our care home at night. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in care at a senior level, along with supervisory experience and leadership skills, or be ready to take the next step up to a senior. This role involves reviewing care plans, ensuring the wellbeing of residents, and fostering a supportive environment for both staff and residents. We are NOT offering sponsorship for this role.
Duties
- Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene and mobility support.
- Develop and implement individualised care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals and family members.
- Supervise junior staff members, providing guidance and support to ensure high standards of care are maintained.
- Maintain accurate records of resident care, including progress notes and incident reports.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to address concerns and provide updates on resident wellbeing.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the care home environment.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge related to senior care practices.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a senior care role is preferred but not essential if you can evidence your ready to take the step up from carer, preferably within a care home setting.
- Supervisory or leadership experience is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of care plans and the ability to implement them effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with residents, families, and staff members.
- Proficient IT skills for maintaining records and documentation.
