We're looking for a reliable, enthusiastic and customer-focused Drivers Mate to join our Transport team in Tilbury. If you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, staying active and being part of a team that keeps businesses moving, we'd love to hear from you.
Working alongside our professional drivers, you'll help deliver goods to customers across the UK while representing Arcese with professionalism and pride.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Drivers Mate, you'll support our drivers to ensure deliveries and collections are completed safely, accurately and on time.
Supporting Deliveries & Collections
- Assist with the safe loading, unloading and handling of goods.
- Support drivers with scheduled deliveries and collections across customer locations.
- Ensure goods are handled carefully to minimise damage during transportation.
- Help complete deliveries efficiently while maintaining excellent customer service.
- Assist with delivery paperwork and proof of delivery where required.
Customer Service
- Represent Arcese professionally at every customer site.
- Deliver friendly, courteous and professional customer service.
- Build positive relationships with customers through every interaction.
- Report delivery issues or customer concerns promptly to the driver or Transport Office.
Health & Safety
- Follow company Health & Safety policies and safe working practices.
- Use safe manual handling techniques at all times.
- Wear the appropriate PPE and maintain a safe working environment.
- Support drivers in ensuring vehicles are loaded safely and goods are secured correctly.
Working as One Team
- Work closely with drivers, warehouse colleagues and the Transport Office to deliver an efficient transport operation.
- Help maintain vehicle cleanliness and organisation throughout the day.
- Demonstrate flexibility to support changing customer and operational requirements.
- Contribute to a positive, supportive and safety-focused working environment.

We'd Love to See
- Previous experience as a Drivers Mate, Warehouse Operative or Delivery Assistant.
- Experience within logistics, transport or distribution.
- Experience using handheld delivery devices or electronic Proof of Delivery (POD) systems.
- Knowledge of safe manual handling techniques.
- A proactive approach and willingness to support colleagues wherever needed.
