Shaw Healthcare are recruiting for a Compliance & Governance Manager to join our Clinical Governance Team; this role is a hybrid position and could mean you are onsite 3 or 4 days per week at our services.
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Salary: starting at £58k plus monthly car allowance of £385

Objectives
- To support with organisational quality compliance through the corporate audit process and to lead on regulatory governance.
- To support the Director of Compliance & Governance, Exec Team Members and Board when required.
- To clearly communicate the mission and goals of the organisation and create and implement strategies for those in the organisation to accomplish them.
- To work with the Operational colleagues to assist in the identification of new National Strategies and implementation of new legislation
- To continue to improve Shaw’s monitoring processes on all services to improve compliance with all four UK regulators and health and local Authority commissioning
- To support the Compliance & Governance team to establish best practice and ensure fulfilment of applicable contractual Quality and Regulatory Standards.
- To manage the Shaw interface at high level safeguarding meeting's and drive the associated quality improvements. Provide assessment, diagnostics and proactive responses to all significant safeguarding and quality issues.
- Complaints are managed through the Compliance & Governance team, to provide the strategic overview and assist in the higher profile or more challenging complaints.
General Management
- To ensure the implementation of service-based improvement action plans where quality improvements are required
- To support and chair meetings /forum to ensure that the corporate policies and procedures reflect best practice and the latest initiatives
- To manage Shaw healthcare's QoL Audit Programme and to ensure that every aspect of the operation of the service is carried out in accordance with Shaw healthcare's internal Compliance Audit procedures is carried out and the findings acted on.
- Plan, organise, liaise, and ensure we conduct QoL Audits in all Shaw healthcare settings that are registered with CQC/CIW/Care Inspectorate/HIS.
- To develop and monitor principles and requirements around data protection and control.
- Produce monthly reports and responsive updates to CEO & Board Members, Director of Compliance & Governance and Exec. Management colleagues when required.
- To formulate positive and measured organisational responses
- Corporate Lead on ISO standards.
- To lead on regulatory submissions and ensure central verification of the following:
- Registrations of Homes, Managers and Variations
- CQC PIR, CIW Annual Returns & equivalent
- Maintain and create Statement of Purposes, Service User Guides etc.
- Submission of notifications via the portals, including reporting & recording.
- Formal response including factual accuracy to Inspection reports
- All formal correspondence with any of these bodies
- To work within Shaw systems (including but not limited to) Service Improvement Plans, Audit system, Incident Management System, My. Shaw portal, G drive.
- Ensure our compliance with GDPR and Data Protection legislation including overview to ensure fulfilment of all Subject Access Requests
Essential Criteria
- Senior level regulator and experience
- Proven track record of having fulfilled a similar role.
- Experience of managing all relevant stakeholder relationships.
- Highly driven, excellent communicator, standards-focused, innovative and passionate about the sector.
- Commercially minded with a logical and pragmatic approach.
- Excellent analytical, regulatory, auditing and presentation skills. The ability to complete top quality reports and presentations.

- Ability to manage self, and work as part of a team.
- Must have a good working and research-based knowledge and understanding of the regulatory framework and its significant influence on all registered settings within Shaw healthcare.
- Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing priorities in a rapidly growing, fast-paced, interactive, results-based team environment.
- Ability to work additional hours and stay overnight when required and to travel to any Shaw healthcare settings either announced or unannounced, at night or weekends.
- Have a sense of adventure, humour, flexibility and a dogged determination.
