Duties
- Assist the Head Chef in the management of the kitchen team, ensuring smooth daily operations
- Supervise food preparation and cooking processes to maintain high standards of quality and presentation
- Oversee food production, ensuring consistency and adherence to recipes and portion sizes
- Train kitchen staff, providing guidance, training, and support to foster a cohesive team environment
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure timely service and customer satisfaction
- Assist in menu planning, development, and implementation of new dishes
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock control efficiently
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen environment in accordance with health and safety regulations
Qualifications
- Proven experience within a professional kitchen setting
- Extensive culinary experience with strong skills in fresh food preparation and cooking techniques
- Demonstrable team management abilities with leadership qualities that motivate staff
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices in hospitality environments
- Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is highly desirable
