Procurement Officer

We are looking to recruit a highly skilled and conscientious Procurement Officer to join the team based at our Bootle site. The job holder will be an integral part of the team, working closely with all departments regarding the day to day purchasing of raw materials and stock as required. The successful candidate should be willing to actively engage and contribute their technical knowledge, to ensure an efficient and accurate process for the purchasing of all goods across the business.
THE ROLE
· Manage all aspects of raw material and stock purchasing
· Purchase of stock via the most efficient process and payment methods
· Work cross departmental to assist in scoping out projects or operational service requirements
· Ensure the PO process is up to date at all times
· Effective storage of all capex forms and authorisation
· Manage and control expiry dates of all relevant products via warehouse and other departments
· Review of customer requirements in terms of stock management
· To maintain / create business management records including supplier details, price list, lead times.
· Negotiation of best price, quality and service and ensure compliance with Health, safety, environmental and packaging regulations.
· Monitoring of supplier performance, reporting any issues and take part in audits
· Ensure accuracy of received goods with minimal discrepancies
· ID alternative sources of supply with up-to-date contact lists
In addition to the specified duties the Procurement officer is expected to perform additional tasks that the company may require.
THE PERSON
· GCSE maths and English
· A qualification or relevant experience in supply chain (CIPS would be desirable)
· Experience in a busy procurement / purchasing department
· Experience of procurement processes and using an ERP system
· Experience of carrying out supplier checks and negotiation
· Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
· Use of using various programmes and systems is essential
· You can work on your own initiative or as part of team
In addition to the specified duties the employee is expected to perform additional tasks when reasonably called upon to do so.
