About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and very experienced Management Accountant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing accurate financial reporting, banking servcies and management information to support operational and strategic decision-making across the business.
This is a traditional management accounting role suited to a qualified or Qualified by Experience accountant with strong organisational skills and experience in monthly reporting, and financial controls. You will help maintain the accounting controls and ensure accurate and timely record keeping across the financial environment.
This role will support a small shared service team, in a simple group environment
Key Responsibilities
· Preparation and submission of VAT and statutory returns
· Liaising with auditors regarding year end audit
· Prepare monthly management accounts within agreed deadlines
· Produce profit and loss statements, balance sheet reconciliations, and cash flow reports
· Process supplier payments and other treasury duties
· Prepare accruals, prepayments, and journal entries
· Reconcile bank accounts and balance sheet accounts
· Manage and support Accounts Assistant
Skills and Experience Required
Essential
· Substantial previous experience in a similar accounting role
· Strong understanding of financial accounting principles
· Experience preparing monthly management accounts
· Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
· Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
Desirable
· Experience using Sage 200 or Xero Accounting systems
· Manufacturing, retail or distribution sector experience
· Experience supporting external audits
Qualifications
- Fully qualified (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) or Qualified By Experience
