Purpose of the role:
To co-ordinate and control QA functions throughout the Petfood business and ensure that product entering and leaving the premises meets the specifications laid down in the operating and quality procedures and that legal requirements are met.
Main duties and responsibilities
· Ensure the QA function is carried out effectively at all levels and in line with the documented operating procedures
· Training and supervision of junior staff
· Develop strong lines of communication with the planning and quality assurance teams to optimise planning, quality and information flow
· Represent the Quality assurance team in internal and external meetings where necessary
· Collating information from QA checks and laboratory analysis to data spread sheets
· Ensure out of specification results are acted on immediately and that senior staff are kept informed of the actions taken
· Offer creative input into process improvement as part of continuous improvement initiatives
· Auditing and effective maintenance of the documented Quality systems
· Upkeep of Quality control records and controlled documents
· Internal auditing of quality systems and HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points)
· Ensure activities meet with and integrate with organisational requirements for quality management, health and safety, legal stipulations, environmental policies and general duty of care
·Maintain and endeavour to improve process controls for product quality and production efficiency
· Deputise for the Quality Assurance Manager in his/her absence
· Other duties as directed by the Quality Assurance Manager
Qualifications:
· Good level of English language; spoken & written
· Good communication skills
· Good practical skills
· Ability to work quickly and methodically
· Ability to concentrate while doing repetitive tasks
Pay: From £15.00 per hour
