Alex C&C Healthcare is looking for kind, reliable and professional individuals to join our community care team, supporting adults to live safely and independently within their own homes.
We call our team members Care Professionals because this role carries responsibility, trust and professional accountability. You may also know this position as a Care Assistant, Home Care Assistant or Domiciliary Care Worker.

Your role as a Care Professional
Your responsibility is not simply to complete tasks. You will support each person in accordance with their individual care plan, preferences, abilities and assessed needs, while promoting dignity, independence, choice and safety.
Your duties may include:
- Supporting with washing, dressing, grooming and personal care
- Supporting with continence needs while maintaining dignity and privacy
- Assisting with safe mobility, transfers, repositioning and moving and handling
- Preparing meals and drinks and supporting adequate nutrition and hydration
- Providing medication support in accordance with the care plan and your level of competency
- Providing companionship, reassurance and emotional support
- Encouraging individuals to do as much as safely possible for themselves
- Supporting with appropriate household tasks connected to the person's care
- Observing changes in health, behaviour, mobility or wellbeing and reporting concerns promptly
- Completing accurate care records following every visit
- Following care plans, risk assessments, safeguarding procedures and company policies
- Communicating professionally with colleagues, families and health or social care professionals
- Reporting accidents, incidents, safeguarding concerns, medication errors or changes in condition without delay
Professional responsibilities
As a Care Professional, you are expected to understand that you have a duty of care to the people you support.
You must respect confidentiality, consent, privacy, equality and individual choice and maintain appropriate professional boundaries at all times.
You should never undertake a care or clinical task that you have not been trained, assessed and authorised to perform. If you are unsure, if a person's condition changes, or if something does not appear safe, you are expected to stop, seek guidance and report the concern.
We want our Care Professionals to feel confident enough to speak up, ask questions and report concerns rather than make assumptions.
Training
You will receive structured training and competency support, which may include:
Moving & Handling | Medication | Basic Life Support | Safeguarding | Infection Prevention | Dementia | Mental Capacity | Catheter & Stoma Care | Enteral/PEG Feeding and other person-specific competencies where required.
Driving & travelling
This is a community-based role supporting people within their own homes across Bristol and South Gloucestershire.
A full UK driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle are essential.
Travel time between scheduled care visits is paid, together with a mileage allowance of £0.30 per mile.
