The business based in Malton, North Yorkshire are looking for a Production Area Manager to lead and be an integral part of the site production team.
Production Area Manager – FMCG / Food Manufacturing
Location: Malton
Hours: Full-time / Permanent
Shift: Predominately 08:00-16:00/ 14:00 -22:00 rotating with flexibility to cover other shifts 6-2/10-6) if required.

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and driven Production Area Manager to join our growing FMCG manufacturing business.

You will take responsibility for the day-to-day performance of your production area, ensuring we consistently deliver the production plan safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the production area to achieve daily and weekly production targets.
- Ensure production is delivered safely, efficiently and to specification.
- Monitor and improve key performance indicators including throughput, yield, waste, downtime, labour efficiency and plan attainment.
- Lead and develop Area Leads, Team Leaders and Production Operatives.
- Ensure the correct staffing levels and skills are available to deliver the production plan.
- Coach and develop your team to build a strong culture of accountability, engagement and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP, BRCGS, food safety and health & safety requirements.
- Work closely with Engineering to minimise downtime and improve equipment reliability.
- Identify bottlenecks and implement practical solutions to improve productivity.
- Lead problem-solving and root-cause analysis to prevent recurring issues.
- Drive improvements in waste, yield, efficiency and overall operational performance.
- Ensure effective shift handovers and communication across departments.
- Work closely with Planning, Technical, Engineering, Warehouse and Supply Chain teams.
- Support the introduction of new products, equipment and processes.
- Ensure all production documentation and records are completed accurately.
- Promote 5S, standard work, OEE and continuous improvement within the area.
About You
We are looking for someone who has proven experience managing production within an FMCG environment, ideally food manufacturing.
You will be:

Essential Experience
- Previous management experience within FMCG manufacturing.
- Experience managing production teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Good understanding of OpEx, food safety, GMP and HACCP.
- Proven experience delivering production targets and managing KPIs.
- Experience managing people, including performance, attendance, training and development.
- Experience of continuous improvement and problem-solving methodologies.
Desirable Experience
- Food manufacturing experience.
- BRCGS experience.
- Lean / TPM / 5S experience.
- Experience working with automated production and packaging equipment.
- Experience managing production during a period of business growth or change.
