Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Fire Risk Assessor to join our team. This role involves evaluating buildings and premises to identify potential fire hazards, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and recommending appropriate mitigation measures. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections of commercial, industrial, and residential premises to identify fire risks and hazards.
- Analyse building layouts, systems, and processes to assess fire safety measures in place.
- Prepare detailed reports outlining findings, potential risks, and recommended corrective actions.
- Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and regulatory bodies to develop effective fire safety strategies.
- Review existing fire protection systems such as alarms, sprinklers, and emergency exits for compliance with current legislation.
- Assist in designing or improving fire safety systems tailored to specific building requirements.
- Keep abreast of changes in fire safety regulations and industry best practices to ensure assessments remain compliant and up-to-date.
- Provide guidance on implementing recommended safety measures and assist with ongoing monitoring where necessary.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction or related fields, with a strong understanding of building structures and materials.
- Knowledge of system design principles relevant to fire detection and suppression systems.
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in fire safety or risk assessment are highly desirable.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret technical drawings and building plans.
- Strong organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills for liaising with clients, authorities, and team members.
- Ability to work independently whilst managing multiple assessments efficiently.
