Job Summary
We are currently looking for a compassionate and reliable Support Worker to support autistic children in their homes and within the community. This is a rewarding role for someone who is patient, caring, and passionate about making a positive difference in a child’s life.
Requirements
- Must be a driver
- Previous experience working with autistic children is essential
- Ability to build positive and trusting relationships
- Flexible to work weekends and school holidays
- Caring, calm, and supportive nature
Main Duties
- Providing one-to-one support to autistic children
- Supporting with daily routines and activities
- Encouraging social interaction and independence
- Taking children out into the community and supporting activities
- Assisting with personal care where required
- Communicating effectively with families and the wider care team
- Maintaining accurate records and reporting any concerns
Skills & Experience
- Experience within care, support work, childcare, or special educational needs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Understanding of autism and individual support needs
- Ability to remain calm in challenging situations
- Basic understanding of safeguarding and health & safety
