About the Role
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Multi-Trade Operative to join our team. The successful candidate will carry out a variety of maintenance, repair, and construction tasks across different sites. This role is ideal for someone with experience in painting, basic joinery, basic plumbing, and groundworks, who is flexible, willing to undertake a wide range of duties, and able to work varying hours, including occasional overnight shifts when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Internal and external painting and decorating works.
- Carrying out basic joinery tasks including repairs, fitting doors, skirting boards, and general carpentry work.
- Performing basic plumbing repairs and maintenance.
- Assisting with groundworks, including paving, fencing, drainage, and general site preparation.
- General property maintenance and repairs.
- Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in line with health and safety regulations.
- Maintaining tools, equipment, and company vehicles.
- Supporting other trades and undertaking additional duties as required.
- Providing excellent customer service when working in occupied properties.
Requirements
- Experience in painting and decorating.
- Basic joinery and carpentry skills.
- Basic plumbing knowledge and experience.
- Experience in groundworks or general construction work.
- Positive attitude with a willingness to undertake a variety of tasks.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Reliable, punctual, and hardworking.
Flexibility Requirements
- Must be flexible with working hours, including varying start and finish times to meet operational requirements.
- Occasional overnight work may be required.
- Willingness to work outside of normal business hours, including evenings and weekends when necessary.
- Ability to adapt to changing schedules and respond to urgent maintenance or project requirements
Essential Qualifications & Skills
- Full UK Driving Licence (essential).
- Previous experience in a multi-trade or maintenance role.
- Understanding of health and safety requirements.
- Ability to travel to various work locations.
Desirable
- Relevant trade qualifications (NVQ, City & Guilds, CSCS Card, etc.).
- Experience working within social housing, commercial, or domestic maintenance environments.
