Roshni Birmingham is recruiting an Outreach Worker to provide specialist support to women affected by forced marriage and honour-based abuse.

About the Role
You will:
- Manage a caseload and provide trauma-informed, person-centred support and advocacy through regular contact and planned interventions
- Carry out risk and needs assessments and develop safety plans for survivors
- Support women to access legal remedies, understand their options and access to housing and welfare rights
· Deliver outreach and helpline support, including participating in an out-of-hours on-call rota and responding to emergencies
· Work in partnership with agencies and advocate for survivors, making referrals to specialist services as needed
· Respond to safeguarding concerns in line with procedures
· Keep accurate records using the organisation’s database, and producing reports and data as requested.
· Promote equality, dignity and anti-discriminatory practice in all areas of your work
You will support women to increase safety, understand their rights, and move forward with confidence.
About You
- Experienced in supporting survivors of forced marriage or honour-based abuse
- Strong understanding of safeguarding, risks and barriers faced by Black and minoritised women
- Ability to build trusting, empowering relationships
- Good knowledge of relevant legislation/rights (including Forced Marriage Protection Orders)
- Strong communication and advocacy skills, with a non-judgemental approach and an ability to maintain professional boundaries
· NVQ Level 3 (or above) in Health & Social Care (or equivalent), or demonstrable equivalent experience.
- Ability to manage a varied workload and be IT literate and familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint
- Commitment to equality, diversity and anti-discriminatory practice
Other essential requirements
- Ability to speak at least one South Asian language
- Valid UK driving licence and access to a car
