Health Sciences University (HSU: formerly AECC University College) is a specialist health sciences institution dedicated to excellent education, clinical care and applied research.

About the role
Reporting to the Lead Practice Educator (Chiropractic), the Practice Educator will be responsible for the education and training of chiropractic students mainly in our onsite clinic, and for ensuring excellent and safe patient care. They will help ensure the quality of the chiropractic clinical placement experience for students across our provision. This is an important and prestigious role within the institution, and the post-holder will help to ensure that the AECC School of Chiropractic continues to provide an internationally recognised centre of excellence for patient care, chiropractic education and training, and applied research. They will be an important role model to students and colleagues alike, promoting evidenced-based and person-centred care in a multi-professional setting. They will also be open to exploring the role of chiropractic in improving population health as part of an integrated service model.
The role requires working in close partnership with other Placement Educators, Clinic Operational Staff, colleagues across the AECC School of Chiropractic, other clinical colleagues, professional services staff, students, patients and service users to ensure a culture of openness, shared responsibility and collaboration. There will also be a commitment to maintaining awareness of best practice in the delivery and support of staff and student clinical education.
About the person
The post holder will be a registered chiropractor, with post-qualifying clinical experience (minimum 2 years). They will have experience in and a passion for delivering high quality education and training. They will have a desire to promote the institution’s reputation as an important global leader in this field. They will also have a strong personal commitment to person-centered practice in line with the values of the chiropractic profession and the University community. They will be a team player who has excellent communication skills and an ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with a range of stakeholders.
