He has a range of difficulties including fatigue and higher-level cognitive function (processing, decision making, multi-tasking, problem solving, memory etc).
The role is for 10 hours per week and does include some hours worked at the weekend and hours will likely be split over 3 days.
We welcome applications from people who have retired from support work and wish to just work a few hours a week.
Suitable candidates will:
Have relevant experience in health/social care/rehab roles
Preferably have experience in brain injury support
Be able to listen actively and patiently
Be a car owner/driver
Be confident, outgoing and active, with good motivational and communication skills
Be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check or be on the update service
Be willing to work with the client on a 1:1 basis, in either the client’s home or community settings
We require a part-time rehab support worker to enable our client to reach his full potential while he undertakes multidisciplinary neuro rehabilitation.
The successful candidate will receive training and supervision from a clinical case manager and a full multidisciplinary team.
The client enjoys a wide range of activities including walking his dogs, gym, woodwork, photography, attending football matches as a spectator and playing walking football. He would very much enjoy the companionship of a RSW who shares similar interests.
