Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Commis Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. Duties
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Support senior chefs in food production, ensuring quality and presentation meet company specifications
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, adhering strictly to food safety regulations
- Supervise junior kitchen staff as required, providing guidance and support in food preparation tasks
- Manage stock levels, assist with inventory checks, and ensure proper storage of ingredients
- Contribute to menu planning and development by offering creative ideas and feedback
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is used safely and maintained in good working order
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service delivery during busy periods
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment, ideally within a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Demonstrable skills in food preparation, cooking, and presentation
- Previous supervising or team management experience is desirable but not essential
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude towards teamwork
- Formal culinary training or relevant qualifications are advantageous but not mandatory
