Duties
- Accurately dispense prescribed medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, following all safety protocols.
- Verify prescription details, including dosage, labeling, and patient information, to prevent errors.
- Assist with medication administration processes, ensuring proper storage and handling of pharmaceuticals.
- Provide excellent patient care by answering medication-related questions and offering guidance on proper usage.
- Maintain meticulous records of dispensed medications, stock levels, and inventory management.
- Support pharmacists in preparing compounded medications or special formulations when required.
- Ensure compliance with all legal regulations and pharmacy policies to uphold safety standards.
Skills
- Prior experience as a pharmacy technician or dispenser, demonstrating familiarity with pharmacy operations.
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures and safety protocols.
- Strong commitment to patient care with excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Attention to detail for accurate prescription processing and record keeping.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy under pressure.
- Basic understanding of pharmaceutical terminology and inventory management systems.
- The pharmacy sector is now technology driven to some extent, the candidate, apart from having knowledge in pharmacy sector also need to be IT proficient to some extent to lead other team members in trouble shooting IT problems related to system settings, to communicate app and system providers, printer problems and maintenance issues, login issues, to create and maintain intranet login accounts.
