Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated IT Consultant to join our dynamic team. Responsibilities
- Analyse client requirements and develop comprehensive IT solutions aligned with their business objectives.
- Design, implement, and optimise system architectures, including cloud-based solutions using AWS and Azure.
- Manage and support diverse operating systems such as Windows, Linux, and UNIX environments.
- Develop and maintain applications using programming languages like Java, C#, C++, Ruby on Rails, Python, and VBA.
- Configure and administer network components including DHCP, DNS, VPNs, firewalls, load balancers, and virtualisation platforms such as VMware and ESXi.
- Integrate systems through APIs, web services (SOAP/REST), microservices architecture, and service-oriented architecture (SOA).
- Ensure system security by implementing information security best practices and managing firewalls and VPNs.
- Utilise DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Git, Docker, Kubernetes, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for efficient software delivery.
- Conduct debugging, troubleshooting, optimisation of system performance, and capacity planning.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on system design projects using tools like Simulink or modelling techniques.
- Provide ongoing support through system administration tasks including database management with SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle), T-SQL or PL/SQL scripting.
- Advise clients on emerging technologies such as NoSQL databases (MongoDB), containerisation (Docker), virtualization (VMware), and information security protocols.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of computer networking principles including DHCP, DNS, VPNs, load balancing, firewalls & security protocols.
- Proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure for scalable infrastructure deployment.
- Strong programming skills in JavaScript, Java, C#, C++, Ruby on Rails, Python & VBA; experience with Shell Scripting & Bash (Unix shell).
- Experience with operating systems including Windows Server environments and UNIX/Linux distributions.
- Familiarity with system architecture design principles & solution architecture development.
- Knowledge of web services standards like SOAP & REST APIs; experience with microservices & service-oriented architecture (SOA).
- Competence in system administration tasks involving VMware ESXi & Kubernetes orchestration tools.
- Understanding of SDLC processes & DevOps practices including Jenkins & Git for version control & automation workflows.
- Ability to implement information security measures across diverse systems; experience with firewalls & VPN setup.
- Experience working with databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL & Oracle; proficiency in T-SQL & PL/SQL scripting languages.
