- Engage clients in meaningful activities that foster mental stimulation and social interaction
- Monitor and report on clients’ health status, behavior changes, or any concerns to healthcare professionals or family members
- Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's, employing behavior management techniques
- Support hospice or end-of-life care needs with sensitivity, compassion, and respect for personal wishes
Skills
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home care environments is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of patient care practices and caregiving techniques
- Knowledge of dementia, Alzheimer's, hospice, and senior care best practices
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when assisting clients with mobility or transfers
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with clients, families, and healthcare teams
- Valid driving license for transportation duties when required
- First aid certification and knowledge of medication administration procedures
- Compassionate attitude with patience, empathy, and a positive approach to caregiving
