Hays Salon are looking for a talented and enthusiastic apprentice hairdresser to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to learn how to become a hairdresser and develop your skills in a supportive and creative environment.
As an apprentice hairdresser, you will learn all aspects of hairdressing, from shampooing and conditioning to cutting, styling, and colouring. You will also learn how to provide excellent customer service and work as part of a team.

About the apprenticeship
- The course typically takes 2 years to complete.
- You will attend East Riding College in Beverley every Monday as part of your training.
- Allocated in-salon training time during the week.
- You will gain a Level 2 Qualification in Hairdressing.
Responsibilities:
While you are training on the job, you will be involved in almost every aspect of the running of the salon. Full training will be given to ensure you are competent in all aspects of the role.
- Throwing yourself whole heartedly in to training: asking questions, being proactive, observing, taking notes
- Assisting stylists with client services, such as shampooing and toning
- Providing excellent customer service and catering to clients needs
- Meeting & greeting, and getting clients ready for a service
- Making clients feel welcome & building rapport
- Getting drinks and ensuring they clients feel comfortable
- Managing bookings over the phone or on the desk
- Maintaining the salons high standard of cleanliness

Qualifications
- Educated to GCSE Level - Essential
Work Experience
- 1 Years work experience in a customer service role - Desirable
Hours
- Mon 9am - 5pm at East Riding College
- Tues - Off
- Wed 9am – 5:30pm
- Thu 9am – 7pm
- Fri 9am - 5:30pm
- Sat 9am – 5pm
Pay, Holidays, Benefits
- £8 per hour (aged 19 or over receive national minimum wage after first year)
