We’re looking for reliable and professional Relief Security Officers to join our established security team in Nottingham.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working as part of a large, supportive team and wants the flexibility of relief work while gaining experience across a varied and busy security operation.
You’ll be joining a site where security works in close partnership with the client and other on-site teams. Good communication, teamwork and a positive working environment are important to us.
Our management team operates an open-door policy and actively encourages officers to share feedback, ideas and suggestions. We want our team to have a voice and welcome input on how we can continue to improve the service and working environment.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Relief Security Officer, you'll help maintain a safe, secure and welcoming environment for employees, visitors and contractors.
Your duties include:
- Providing a professional and visible security presence
- Managing access to the site, buildings and car parks
- Carrying out regular security patrols on foot and in the response vehicle
- Monitoring the premises and identifying potential security or safety concerns
- Locking and unlocking buildings
- Issuing access passes
- Conducting vehicle searches
- Supporting colleagues and the wider security operation
- Providing a helpful and professional service to employees, visitors and contractors
- Accurately recording incidents, patrols and other relevant information
What We're Looking For
We’re looking for someone who is dependable, approachable and comfortable working as part of a team.
You will have:
- A valid UK driving licence
- A current SIA Security Licence
- A professional and customer-focused approach
- Clear verbal and written communication skills
- The ability to remain calm and professional when dealing with challenging situations
- Good observation and awareness skills
- Good organisational and record-keeping skills
- Basic computer and numeracy skills
- A valid CCTV licence is desirable but not essential.
First Aid Requirement
- A full First Aid at Work (FAW) Certificate is required for this role.
- If you currently hold an Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) Certificate, you are still encouraged to apply.
- Successful applicants who hold EFAW rather than the full FAW qualification will be provided with additional training and placed on the appropriate course to enable them to meet the full requirement.

About the Site
This is a large and varied site with an established security operation and a substantial team of officers, controllers, team leaders and management.
Relief officers play an important part in maintaining the service by supporting the team with additional cover when required. You'll have the opportunity to work alongside experienced colleagues and become familiar with a range of security duties.
We believe the best security services are delivered through teamwork and partnership. Management are accessible and keen to hear from officers about what is working well, where improvements can be made and ideas that could benefit the wider team.
