Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. As a key member of our culinary operations, the Sous Chef will support the Head Chef in managing kitchen activities, ensuring high standards of food quality and safety, and supervising kitchen staff. Duties
- Assist the Head Chef in preparing and presenting high-quality dishes in accordance with restaurant standards
- Supervise and manage kitchen staff, including training, scheduling, and performance monitoring
- Oversee food production processes to ensure consistency, efficiency, and adherence to food safety regulations
- Coordinate with front-of-house teams to ensure smooth service delivery and customer satisfaction
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in compliance with health and safety standards
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock rotation to minimise waste
- Support the development of new menu items and culinary innovations
- Ensure all food served meets quality standards and presentation expectations
Requirements
- Proven supervising experience within a busy restaurant or hospitality environment
- Extensive background in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen management
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene standards
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively under pressure
- Experience in food production, culinary arts, and hospitality service
- Previous restaurant experience is essential; serving experience is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to maintain high standards of quality and consistency in food presentation and taste
