Sweet Janes Bakehouse is an artisanal bakery, Creating a range of bakes from our bakery in Kilmarnock. We produce sourdough bread, cakes, biscuits and a large range of viennoiserie. We are a small, fun & passionate team who supply 3 of our own storefronts and a variety of wholesale across Ayrshire and Glasgow.
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our bakery team . This role is ideal for someone with a background in baking, who thrives in a detail focused environment. The successful candidate will play a role in ensuring the highest standards of food quality and safety while contributing to our creative culinary offerings. The right candidate would be required to work nightshift. However after training, hours can be early morning starts. We would love for you to have an interest in developing your bakery skills along side us!
Responsibilities
- Under the process of sourdough bread
- Prepare doughs, tray bakes, cakes and other goods, following established recipes and standards.
- Assist in the daily operations of the kitchen, including food production and presentation.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety regulations.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely service.
- Offer creative input based on culinary trends, that could be added to the menu.
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, reporting any shortages.
- Uphold high standards of hygiene and sanitation throughout all food preparation processes.
Qualifications
- Strong culinary skills with a focus on cooking techniques and baking.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations is essential.
- Previous kitchen experience is highly desirable, along with an understanding of pastry/baking/bread.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent teamwork skills, with a positive attitude towards collaboration.
Additional training can be given by our current head baker and bakery team.

Pay: From £13.00 per hour
