An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Buckinghamshire Healthcare Trust EPR Team. We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Lead Pharmacist – EPMA & Pharmacy Systems to provide professional, clinical and operational leadership for electronic prescribing and medicines administration across the Trust.
The post holder will act as the Lead Pharmacist in continuing to deliver the Trusts EPMA system, with consideration of the time, resource requirements and essential patient safety nature to be a successful project. They will provide Pharmacist support and advice on pharmaceutical matters and those pertaining to medicines management. The post holder will oversee the use of electronic dispensing and prescribing systems as required in Pharmacy and through out the Trust when associated with medicines management, identify and support teams to deliver the changes in clinical and operational practice with implementation of EPMA and work as a practising Pharmacist with understanding the requirements and scope of clinical pharmacy to deliver the EPMA role
Working within the digital team, the post holder will be managing EPMA configuration, design and implementation for deployments across the trust. The post holder will manage a team of EPMA pharmacy technicians.
- To act as the Lead Pharmacist in the continued delivery of our EPMA system, with consideration of the time, resource requirements and essential patient safety nature to be a successful project.
- To provide Pharmacist support and advice on pharmaceutical matters and those pertaining to medicines management including the selection, procurement, dispensing, delivery, prescribing, administration and review of medicines.
- To oversee the use of electronic dispensing and prescribing systems as required in Pharmacy and throughout the Trust when associated with medicines management
- To identify and support teams to deliver the changes in clinical and operational practice with implementation of EPMA.
- To work as a practising Pharmacist with understanding the requirements and scope of clinical pharmacy to deliver the EPMA role
- To support the work of other senior pharmacists as required
This will involve a wide-ranging scope of activities and demonstration of leadership and management skills to deliver project elements within fixed timescales, engage a range of staff with system development, assess risks, define and implement solutions.
Knowledge of pharmacy, prescribing and dispensing requirements, drug safety and governance process will be essential.
