Links Nurseries Ltd is a private limited company which runs a well-respected group of three nurseries in East Lothian, Edinburgh and Aberdeenshire.
We are now seeking an exceptional candidate who brings drive and enthusiasm, and the ability to lead and inspire our strong team at our East Lothian nursery. This is a busy nursery in a lovely setting with an excellent reputation, and we are now looking for our next head of service. The successful candidate will be working in partnership with our Director, Area Manager and the other Links Nurseries Managers as well as a dedicated staff team, children, and families.

The role is varied but examples of responsibilities will include:
- Smooth day to day running of the service
- Ensuring safeguarding and welfare requirements are met at all times
- Maintaining a high-quality learning environment
- Promoting and supporting the development of existing and new staff within the setting
- Ensuring all statutory requirements are met
- Recruitment of staff
- Being passionate and enthusiastic in all aspects of a quality service
- Managing and monitoring the occupancy of the setting and promoting the setting through social media.
Ideally you will:
· Have a track record of significant achievement with at least two years recent experience at senior, deputy, or higher level in a Scottish nursery.
· Hold a PDA Childhood Practice at SCQF level 9, or a BA Childhood Practice or equivalent, or be currently working towards this, failing which you must be prepared to gain one of these.
· Be knowledgeable about Scottish curricula and current best practice documentation and pedagogy in Early Years.
· Have excellent interpersonal skills, and a confident and conscientious management style.
· Be able to work flexibly with the existing management team and the Area Manager and Director whilst maintaining Links Nurseries Ltd group high standards.
· Have a reasonable working standard in IT skills.
· Have an excellent standard of written and verbal communication.
· Understand the importance of diplomacy, professionalism and being a good role model when leading a team.
· Have competent numerical and financial skills.
