International Summer School – non-summer EFL teaching work
NON-RESIDENTIAL Roles – Uxbridge

Ardmore Language Schools, part of the Active Learning Group, are one of the leading summer school companies in the UK with over 40 years of experience focused on teaching the World English through classroom learning, educational activities & excursions for international students.
What we’re looking for
We offer bookings outside the summer months at select venues and we are looking to grow our team of EFL teachers for this type of work. This role would suit a local candidate to Uxbridge with an existing EFL specialism who is available for short, fixed term contracts throughout the year that will vary in length & hours on a NON-RESIDENTIAL basis.
These contracts will primarily be shorter, teaching-only contracts in the AM, PM or both of approx. 15-30 hours per week, or if interested, they can involve assisting with activities & meal duties going up to a max of 42 hours per week. We are looking for candidates available for all these types of work based on our visiting group’s needs. Again, these are NON-RESIDENTIAL positions and will be in short contracts spread throughout the year. This is NOT a full-time opportunity.
What you’ll do:
- Teach fun, engaging English lessons to classes of up to 18 students using Ardmore’s in-house syllabus.
- Create a friendly, inclusive learning environment where students can grow in confidence.
What you need to have to be eligible:
- A CELTA, Trinity TESOL, or equivalent Level 5 TEFL qualification (with at least 6 hours of observed teaching).
- A degree (or relevant experience in teaching English in the UK or abroad).
- A passion for teaching and supporting young international learners with good cultural & emotional sensitivity
- Organisational skills and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
- Clear communication skills and a good understanding of safeguarding and welfare.
- Legal Right to Work in the UK and an existing Enhanced DBS, or willingness to complete an Enhanced DBS check.
- Live in or locally to Uxbridge & be able to get yourself to & from site on a daily basis including at weekends
Key Information:
- Contract: Part-time, (including evenings and weekends).
- Hours: variable, up to a max of 42 per week
- Pay: £20 - £25 per hour depending on experience
- Non-residential: Must live locally and commute daily around working hours.
- Minimum age: 18 years.
